5 Predictions for 2025 Marketing Trends

I’m not one for making bold predictions, but as I stare into my crystal ball, I believe I can see several trends emerging that will take root in 2025.

Here we go:

  1. Chat-GPT Prompt Engineering Becomes Essential Skill for Marketers

I know what you are saying. This is a no-brainer.

2. AI Takes Over Telemarketing

AI bots are now able to start a conversation, collect data, and schedule a meeting with natural sounding voices and dialogue. In fact, some people may not even realize they are talking to an AI bot. The AI bots are offended by rudeness or foul language. It will lower cost and increase productivity for telemarketing campaigns. I also predict that Don’t Call lists will balloon like never before.

3. Production of Video Content Outpaces Textual Content

As companies revisit their content strategies, they realize that there is a greater need for video content to increase engagement on social media and content platforms like YouTube. As attention-spans decrease, video content ranks highest for engagement.

4. Threads Overtakes X for Marketshare

X, formerly Twitter, is shedding subscribers and advertisers in big numbers. Google Threads is growing its marketshare quickly, as is BlueSky.

5. Influencer Marketing is Key to Reaching Young Consumers

Gen Alpha and Gen Z consumers are much more influenced by their peers and social media personalities compared to other buying influences such as research reports, customer satisfaction studies, industry experts and celebrity endorsements. They don’t watch network television, and they don’t read books or magazines to the same degree as previous generations. They live online. For companies that are chasing young adult customers, influencer marketing needs to be a key ingredient in your marketing mix .
